The Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague for last year's Milan Design Week has prepared a special performance installation by Studiolo Robotico R.U.R. Students of design, illustration, glass, fashion, and typography participated in its formation.
Matyáš Machat (1992) graduated at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague with his bachelor work – typeface Eric Machat Script inspired by Eric Gill’s handwriting. It’s an extension of his previous font release Eric Machat – a redesign of Eric Gill’s most popular typeface. Matyáš’s school projects are usually original typeface, such as Clint Eastwood, Sandokan, Brief and more. His experimental approach is as playful and daring as Briefcase’s font taste. He is currently working with Vojtěch Říha on several typefaces, such as Slavia Grotesk, and improving his own existing type designs.
